Football Casuals

The Firm - Football Casuals
The Firm, released last month in the cinemas, has certainly caused a sensation in the world of Men’s Fashion.

But the fashion commonly known today as “Football Casuals” has actually been around for donkey’s years! But, like many things, it’s undergone several changes of name, yet only slight changes have been made to the basic style.

It was first seen way back in the 1950s with the Teddy Boys. In the 1970s Mods began wearing their expensive designer clothing to footbal matches, after all, the cops weren’t looking for smartly dressed geezers!

It was in the 1990s that football hooligans started wearing the designer labels to football matches as a kind of uniform, and the name Football Casuals sort of stuck.

Among the designer labels they were wearing were Stone Island, Prada, Hugo Boss, Adidas, Fred Perry, Lyle & Scott, Armani, Lambretta and Lacoste.

Now, I’m not condoning violence of any sort in any way, but you gotta admit their duds are cool!
